Dreaming of Reality

God has given me a boldness to approach him for anything I have an issue with. (Eph 3:12, Heb 4:16, Jer 33:3) And I’ve had plenty of issues that got resolved that way. Years ago I made an assessment of the world we live in--believing that what I was seeing was real. It didn’t look good. Horrible views were in the shadows of every corner, and some were right out there front & center. I hadn’t seen any change in the land that would eliminate man’s potential to hurt his fellow man. I wasn’t encouraged. While good news was broadcast, so was bad. Never mind the battle of good and evil--it was supposed to have been won! If this was reality, it cast a heavy burden on my heart, for peace and safety looked far removed.

Religion could only offer old, dead promises of future deliverance; those fruitless, empty promises seemed to be hot air, because the hope was coming “someday”. What about now?! What about the view of “life” all around that spoke of huge injustices and extreme cruelty? Was this the world of a loving God who was supposed to be in control? Was it possible I didn’t understand what I was looking at? I knew God’s ways were higher than mine, but my anger pushed me onward to receive light and hope from my only source. I needed a higher assurance as to why so many were experiencing a nightmare.

I remember when God enlightened me. The words just came before my eyes and  flowed out of my mouth as He was showing me. And to me, His answer was the only answer there could be, for nothing else makes any kind of sense! The apex came when I was speaking to him concerning children, and how so many were abused, tortured, and killed. From my own experience with our most loving Creator, I couldn’t believe he would just sit back and allow it. I KNEW he wasn’t helpless to stop it. I KNEW that I couldn’t care more than Him. And I KNEW that it hurt him because it hurt me. Can humans love more than the Father of Jesus Christ, who passionately sent Himself as his own Son to deliver us from death? Not possible. What then, was going on? I pleaded for higher understanding, for I could not rest until I had heard from him.

I believe God sends us truth regularly, because He oozes it. But we can’t hear it or don’t believe it because it goes against religious beliefs, cultures, popular opinions, etc. Voices from within and without drown it out. Some believe “the devil” is trying to deceive them when they hear words from God that sound like blasphemy and reek of heresy (believing differently than what is accepted). And this is the main reason why so many persons cannot hear the truth straight from the Source. They must get approval from people and/or their own mind--which is the enemy of God. (Romans 8:7)

I’m sure we have all experienced awakening from a dream that seemed so real. Those kind of dreams can shake our grasp on reality because we feel--deep within our being--an effect that can last for hours, and sometimes days. Here is the proof of the pudding, for everyone can relate to the dreaming process while we are sleeping. There is nothing new here, and is a part of all of our lives, stirring us even when we have awakened. We wake up and get back into our lives. Would it be that hard to kick this concept up a notch? Could it be that the lives we believe we are living are really an expression of a dream. A dream scenario from and in the mind of God. This was God’s answer to me. And really, how else could all kinds of brutalities be allowed, except that they really haven’t happened as we believe we are seeing them. But we are still affected by them. Our soul is walking them out in some way.

The worse things we see or experience change us in the greatest way--in powerful ways--strengthening our soul content and giving muscle to our character. We become more compassionate and less selfish. We become changed by the inter-action of suffering between our lives and others. Our “waking” hours are no less a level of a dream than the ones we believe we have when we are “asleep”. We are always in some state of groggy understanding til our soul (assigned to us by God) gets wake-up calls. (Rom 13:11,1 Corin 15:20, Eph 5:14, et al; the Psalms are full of scriptures concerning waking up, and the meaning isn’t just about getting up in the morning!) And I’ve said it before:  when the race of Adam was put into a deep sleep (Gen 2:21), there is no mention of an awakening. That comes with the appearance of the Christ from within. We become awakened to the reality that our view of life--the life we see “out there”--is a virtual reality view.

Virtual reality is a very real concept. We experience it in our dreams. Pilots learn through simulators of virtual reality. Virtual reality systems exist and can be expressed in computer programs and video games. So, there is the truth right before our eyes, exhibited with no denials. Very non-religious, but God scores very high in the Science category. HIS high principle expresses itself in our world of technology. Oh yes! God is hiding in plain sight. Truthfully, we believe that “life” is wherever our SENSES tell us it is. Our five senses in this lowered state of spiritual clarity dictate to us and veil a wonderland of higher understanding! As the darkness (mental and spiritual) of this gross material world becomes overtaken by Truth (a person), light intensifies. Our life then becomes more and more the REAL thing! This process has always been evolving.

When God spoke our creation out from within Himself, our “beginning” was not as solid reality. But there would be a journey ending with our being very real and permanent.  Like an author writing a story (like Moses recorded his vision of Gen 1 & 2), it first had life as thoughts in the mind of God. God doesn’t just make things appear out of nothing. He isn’t a magician, for magician’s use illusions.

Everything starts with a thought. The highest thoughts are His, and everything he has spoken establishes a pattern that will be the framework of our existence. We were first mental images with Divine potential to evolve into living beings. That evolving would happen in arenas of layered realities that we label as time. This is the way God is delivering us from the death realm we have to experience (lacking the awareness of God), and it has been happening since Calvary. Even though we weren’t separated from God when we were created, we were sent “out” and there was a lowering from the Creator’s status. We dropped. (the fall)

God wanted this race of people to be like him, and they couldn’t just be little robots who had none of their own soul to make choices from. They couldn’t be programmed entities. We would be given a taste of  “free  will”, giving us opportunities to make choices. The free will had to be controlled so that others’ free will and ours wouldn’t fruitlessly, hopelessly collide. All collisions are structured paths. We experience a controlled free will. Whose control? God’s. (Eph 1:11)  The only absolute free will is God’s. And we can rest in the truth that the Creator spoke us into existence from a heart of hope and love. We were created for a powerful purpose, backed by a solid foundation of love and success--success in become loving and selfless, just like He is. The acorns will not fall away from the tree.

Once we embrace the great truth that things are not as chaotic as they look, and that God, in His mercy, is letting us grow and mature as we are “sleeping” (not unlike a baby in the womb), we can be so grateful that He is in control of the REAL world that is just beyond our view. Indeed, this world becomes clearer as our awakening grows. This is the true meaning of being “born again”, or born from above (John 3:7).  I have been experiencing it and can see it. I have hope. This is good news (gospel)! I pray for others to see this marvelous truth and to approach their Father with an open mind, anticipating new understanding.  No more dreaming, please. May I encourage you--if you cannot accept this truth--to come back again when you embrace maturing and awakening. And may your hunger be stirred up to do just that!!
